The Business of Medicine

Medicine is a business but doctors don’t have business minds. They’re actually mostly people who are good at memorization and regurgitation of the information. Through out my childhood my family was immersed in the business of medicine.  One person had the degree and the other had the business mind. Our home was littered with pharmaceutical swag, our family vacations were to medical conventions, free dinners at the best restaurants and the pharmaceutical reps were like family. The reps were everything because those who treated you the best were the ones who’s medication you prescribed the most. Watching doctors learn how to best memorize and regurgitate the talking points the pharmaceutical company wanted you to represent all while completely ignoring anything that could challenge the safety of medication.

.

The business of medicine is also so far and so widespread it’s unbelievable and most of it has nothing to do with the purpose of medicine in the first place, the health of people. Everyone, doctors, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies have their hand in the pot and everything revolves around profit and nothing around cures or the health of the people.

.

Unfortunately it’s really a shining example of supply and demands to a doomed society. Medicine not for profit means cures but with a long line of self serving clientele that doesn’t want to do the work to be healthy or have any accountability for their lifestyle choices the business of medicine is alive and well.

.

Everything in medicine is bought and paid for and nothing comes for free!

Anti-Inflammatory Latte Health Benefits

Raw Earth Medicine:

Anti-Inflammatory Latte

2 tbsp Honey
1 tbsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp Turmeric

8 oz Hot Liquid - water, tea, coffee

Put ingredients in bottom of a mug and pour the hot liquid over them and stir

Add a dash of nutmeg and vanilla to spice up this latte even more and Enjoy!

How it works:

1. Turmeric -

A potent anti-inflammatory spice, which protects against oxidative stress. Research has suggested that turmeric and its anti-oxidative ingredient, curcumin, can help reduce inflammation, help heal wounds, relieve pain, contribute to weight loss, prevent cancer and long term use has been known to change the bodies composition to continually reduce inflammation and improve cellular health.

2. Cinnamon -

Contains large amounts of highly potent polyphenol antioxidants which protect the body from oxidative damage caused by free radicals. The antioxidants in cinnamon have anti-inflammatory effects, which may also help lower the risk of disease. Cinnamon also has been known to suppress the appetite and can be used as an alternative to sugar and sweeteners.

3. Honey -

Possesses antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Honey has been known to help heal wounds, control acid reflux, reduce stomach inflammation and reduce allergy symptoms. (*studies are still being conducted to scientifically show the benefits on a molecular level but historically honey has been known to benefit the aforementioned ailments)

Combining Honey, Turmeric and Cinnamon creates a powerful anti inflammatory compound.  This compound has been known to reduce inflammation, swelling, pain, rheumatoid arthritis, gastric inflammation, improve circulation and is also a good tool for cancer prevention as it lowers oxidative stress from free radicals.

This should be a staple in your morning routine and you will feel the benefits within one week of daily consumption.

Watch how you no longer need anti-inflammatory pharmaceuticals after you switch to this Latte!
